Problem with Ethernet ports(?) on WR1043NDv4

Since day 1 I've had troubles with my new WR1043NDv4 while running LEDE. For some reason, sometimes the switch/Ethernet ports stops working. There is no internet and no local network (I can't connect to the others computer on the network). This state is maintaining until my scripts restarts /etc/init.d/network restart. WiFi though is working fine, I can access the router though SSH. I can't do that while connected though Ethernet.

Does anyone see any indicator what's causing the issue? I can see when the issue is happening but I don't know what's causing it. There is also less free space in flash so I expect something is writing some data to it.

Here are the logs:

syslog
dmesg

No one has any idea what might happening to my device?

Here is the most resent log:

I have a script that first tries to restart wan interface and then /etc/init.d/network restart. The first one doesn't solve the problem. The second command does.

Hello. First of all, sorry for bad english...

Something similar happens to me. I have a Livebox 2.1 ARV7519rw22 alt. LEDE Reboot 17.01.0 r3205-59508e3.

In my case, both ports 1 and 2 of ehternet swith stop working at all. Not even network restart command fixes the problem. It only gets fixed by rebooting the router.

Any idea ??

Actually I believe my issue was fixed. It probably was a faulty hardware. The replacement unit that I got is working a few days now without any issues. It's running the same version of firmware with the same configuration.

I think your issue is not relevant to this thread.
The only reason I still didn't updated this thread is because I wanted to be sure the issue has been resolved.

Now I'm on the replace unit and this issue is still present. I'm using the newest LEDE 17.01.1 stable.

I also noticed that even though the Ethernet ports failed (I couldn't ping any devices connected though Ethernet) I was in the middle of file copy between computers and this was still happening. I have no idea how this was possible but it worked. WAN was dead.

How can I fix this?

@peperfus - Where you able to fix the issue?

@r43k3n: I also see this problem using latest version of lede-17.01. I have two different devices here. Both using lede. Independent of whether the interface is configured using dhcp or static configuration, once it is initialized (ping to external ip works) it gets into an invalid state afterwards. A soft reboot does not help. Only a hard reboot helps. If the interface is in an invalid state it seems to be dead as you told. One of the both devices uses an own driver implementation for a single interface. This interface is not affected! Now the problem gets completely wired. Having the devices connected to a Neatgear to a Netgear FS608 v3 switch you see the behavior as described. I have tried also a Netgear GS105 v3. With that switch (and some others) you DO NOT see any strange behavior. All interfaces are always configured fine ... I think that there is some generic driver part for ethernet interface affected if the connected switch behaves a bit different (ethernet handshake ....)
