Problem Discovery network

Hi,

I'm having a network discovery issue between LAN and LAN2 zones.

  1. Where is my problem ?
  2. Enable IGMP snooping is required ?
  3. mDNS is required ?

thank.

Hi,

The discovery network with windows to get list computer who get a share.
Computer:

  • Start explorer
  • Go to Network
  • Enable discovery network
  • Server Samba is discovery for to connect

i think a protocol:

LLMNR (Link-Local Multicast Name Resolution)
NetBIOS

The Netbios is not work !!!

Exemple:

You are aware that the protocols you listed don't traverse networks, correct?

You need to set samba with bind nñmed to serve srv records for dns domain, or add heap of them to dnsmasq.

Where is it in panel ?

No idea what aere you talking about, read samba documentation, take microsoft courses, search bings.

It's router ?

You hae to add dns SRV records to a dns server. Not necessarily you have to do on dnsmasq or openwrt.

The IP is reserve by DHCP, it's already them.

Luci/network/dhcp/dns records/srv

or
...k/dhcp/forwarders if samba feeds dn.

you will still have to read outside documentation .

Hi,

i try them

General:

Static Release*

Dns Records / SRV

Almost there, hold active directory docs in oyther hand

Edit SRV for wsd:

I don't have an AD server, just a router with 2 legs and a PC that wants to see the sharing.

I got that, if your nas was full linux you could use sambas active-directory-like dns.
You can enable dns logging then sweep /logread/ for SRV qieries.

My server is Raspberry on OpenMediaVault.

,local is special domain reserved for MDNS aka BONJOUR aka AVAHI, not useful with windows. Use .lan .home .internal but not .local.
