I have a network of 7 dumb AP's with three Vlans. Private, Guests, IoT. Private has access to IoT in one direction. I would like to have all printer within the network in IoT and make them discoverable. That, so far, does not work.... I guess that because IoT has no access to private? Is there a way around a full reverse access?
OpenWRT version is 23.05.5
Discovery is usually be done with things like mDNS or SSDP these are broadcasts and do not travel between subnets.
You have to use packages like Avahi for mDNS multicasting and/or SMCRoute for SSDP.
But you can usually just use the ip address of the printer but of course you have to open up your firewall for that
Yeah, i was guessing thats the only way. But tell that your mother in law ...
Install avahi reflector homed in all networks you need, or forward multicasts bumping ttl.
