i have also done this with UART:mtk_uartboot.exe -s COM5 -a -p mt7986-ram-ddr4-bl2.bin -f bl31.bin && putty.exe -serial COM5 -sercfg 115200,8,n,1,N

but i csnt get a button press in as it never loads anything up

What button press ?

i have tried 0, ctrl c and enter

Didn't ask about which buttons you had pressed...

sorry i assumed thats what you asked

I see now, I assumed you meant physical button on the device, but you mean on your keyboard ?

There's however a syntax error in your mtk_uartboot command.

aahhh okay i get it, i have managed to get it into MT7986> now but as soon as i turn it off again to put it back to its spot it goes back into the boot cycle it only happened when i tried to install Openwrt Ubootmod Layout

mtk_uartboot doesn't flash anything.

If you power cycle, you have to rerun it.

okay so im guessing i have to just follow the steps from the Revert to OEM Firmware? i also cant seem to find my backups

Why ?

Simply follow https://openwrt.org/toh/acer/predator_connect_w6x#openwrt_ubootmod_layout, and you'll be fine.

im getting everything installed but as soon as i power the router off im back in the same situation, as it doesnt get upto the u-boot part and keeps rebooting again

same error message as before ?

post the whole flash sequence.

use </> button on top of the edit window, when you paste the text.

if you look further down on the logs you will see it doing the boot loop

I'd like the full sequence starting from mtk_uartboot, until it fails.

it limits how much i can put on here, i will try and get it done now with less info, i will turn it off then on  i have the mtk_uartboot on my desktop so i will get it sorted to show you
