PPPoE internet not working in Linksys E8450

Hi. I am trying to setup OpenWrt on my E8450. Not sure why, but I am not able to connect to internet with PPPoE. Anyone got any ideas to help?

what does dmesg say ?

tried cloning the WAN MAC from the old device used, just in case you ISP's doing some caching ?

I assume not, I've tried PPPoE on other devices a few days ago too and it worked on that device

In your screenshot your LAN and WAN Mac address are identical. So you might want to continue w @frollic 's advice and pick up one of the useful devices and grab a mac.

This is the last dsmeg after I reinstalled latest snapshot and edited the network file

Share internet from your cell phone, join its wifi network with the router, install the packages you need.

This is kind of weird though, I thought the E8450 had 1GbE ports ...

okay, I got hotspot on in my phone. How can I make it connect with the router?

network-> wireless -> scan -> join

oh, wait.

no luci ... need to look it up

Perfect, I connected it to my wifi now! I am installing LuCI

I've installed it now. Should I try connecting to internet now again with PPPoE?

did you change the WANs MAC ?

Not yet, I should change the wan settings to use pppoe right?

change the MAC 1st.

how can I change it? and to what should I change it to?

network -> interfaces -> devices (tab) -> configure -> MAC address

set the MAC to be the same as the WAN MAC of the device currently serving you internet.
