Power management or frequency scaling on mt7986 or mt7988

Hi there!

I am wondering if mt7986 devices like banana bpi rp3, flint2 mt6000 or banana bpi rp4 have power management features.. like the cpu frequency going down when its idling.

Like this:

Ps to show this on the overview screen i used this:

Does anyone know if mt7986 or mt7988 devices support the frequency throttling?

I do not believe they support a CPU governor I believe they are full throttle all the time. See:

Ah, thank you!

So for mt7981 and mt7986 the frequency is fixed. But Daniel said something that it might be possible to implement frequency governer for mt7988 (if it isnt already).

So my question is, does anyone owning a banana bpi rpi4 know if it supports the frequency governor?

I installed the package on my RT-AX59U. In Services/CPU Performance for every core you get the notification: "Performance scaling not available for this CPU..." and on the Status screen: "No performance data...".

Thank you for trying it out and posting your findings!
Your router uses a mt7986 soc though, its known for fixed frequency.
I hope someone with a mt7988 like a banana bpi rp4 can test it out aswell. Thats the one that possible can support frequency governor as I understand it.

I installed luci-app-cpu-perf on my Zyxel T-56 (Odido branded EX5601-T1) with MediaTek MT7986a and the result was:

No performance data...

I think MT7988 has support of freq scaling, last time when I tried to run Wireguard synthetic test with BPI-R4, changing governor to "performance" can give me sustained higher speed rather than seeing a ramping up speed.
