Port Forward and Traffic Rule when destination is router

Hi. Assuming that my OpenWrt router's LAN address is 192.168.1.1, do these settings achieve the same thing, i.e. exposing the router's port 12000 to TCP traffic from the Internet?

The panel on the left is a Port Forward, and the panel on the right a Traffic Rule.

If they achieve the same practical aim (i.e. the exposure as stated above), does either panel represent the better or more standard practice than the other? What would be the pros and cons on either side?

Please excuse my other post, same date, if you saw it. Thanks.

The port forwarding involves NAT.
NAT negatively impacts performance/throughput.
Thus, the traffic rule is preferable in this case.
Good practice is to avoid NAT whenever possible.
