Yes understood - just trying to figure out where the 256MB figure comes from. Looks like just glitches on the Amazon listing - since here it states 512MB:

Update for interested readers. The Cudy TR3000 arrived and it seems to serve my purpose well, with the only possible downside being lack of wall mount holes. The device is aesthetically pleasing and was well packaged. Flashing OpenWrt 24.10.2 was straightforward. Having reconfigured the nearest RT3200’s 2.4 GHz AP to a WDS AP, the TR300 connects with -70 dBm. I’d forgotten that my RT3200’s 2.4 GHz radios are AC and so that limits the bandwidth to circa 80-100 Mbit/s. Increasing channel bandwidth from 20 MHz to 40 MHz doesn’t seem to help. But this is more just academic - the setup is just fine for providing ethernet connectivity to my pellet boiler room.

You could try powerline networking also. I use one that feeds into my openwrt ap

Is frequency scaling supported in this chipset? I believe not because I don’t see governor file but maybe it needs kernel module.
