The very first post of this thread is also a Raspberry Pi 4, but shows roughly 6 GBit/s, yours shows 9 GBit/s. I guess this 50% increase is probably not just due to a newer kernel between OpenWRT 21 and 23.

  • there was once a newer HW release of Pi 4 introduced with higher turbo clock rate (1.8 instead of 1.5 GHz (https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/bullseye-bonus-1-8ghz-raspberry-pi-4/). It looks like the increase was introduced in Nov 2021, while the initial post was a month before that, so the thread starter must have for sure used the older HW revision. The 0.3 GHz clock increase probably though might not explain all of the 50% throughput increase, but would you mind checking, if you have the newer Rpi4 revision? (description is in the link, how to identify the newer revision)
  • The overall throughput on Pi4 might also highly depend on how good the applied cooling is, as the Pi4 CPU can easily overheat and will throttle, if it gets too hot. Would you mind adding a short remark on what case/sink/fan you were using on it? Otherwise the results might be difficult to for others to compare.

Yes I have the newer version of Rpi4b, it is version 1.4 with increased clocks.

Also I use a passive cooling aluminium case with Arctic Mx4 thermal compound, the temperature always stays between 45° to 50°C.

Hello:
A bit late to the party.

Granted, a MyBook Live quite obviously is not a router, not even a real NAS as it can only hold one drive and does not even have a USB port, just Gigabit Ethernet.

But the results may still be relevant (?).
There are literally hundreds thousands of those boxes out there looking for work as a simple local deposit for files (cold storage) or streaming on a private network if throughput could be improved.
