I think I got it now. Thank you so much! Will try to backport it to 24.10 then.
You can check how it was done for the TR3000, it was back ported to 23.05.
I've created this https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/18434 fingers crossed - hope it's the right way to backport...
By the way, if I will backport it not only to release/24.10
but to release/23.05
as well, then my device will appear in next service release like 23.05.6
if it will be build someday? Or do you know if 23.05.5
will be the last version of 23.05
?
projected end of life for 23.05 is July 2025:
There may be a 23.05.6, might not see until August.
Up to you.
24.10 is obviously still an option.
Just made a PR for 23.05
as well https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/18437
There are some scripts and a few differences in DTS compared to the 24.10
variant I had to edit to make it work in 23.05.5
, but this one worked flawlessly for me. I've tested this code in vanilla 23.05.5
firmware for a few days on my device.
It seems like 24.10 backport PR is merged recently. Does it take a few days until it appears in firmware selector?
It will appear in next release only, e.g. if there will be 24.10.1 it will be there. For now you can build snapshots only.
not officially announced yet, 24.10.1 is being built.
Do you mean we may get it very soon?
it's already listed in https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/, but still building.
Cool, thank you so much! I've just downloaded 24.10.1
for Huasifei WH3000 and flashed it. Everything seems good.
Yes I can confirm as well, last firmware works flawlessly so far.
