I have MediaTek MT7620A ver:2 eco:6 device. I have a 1GBPS wan line. but On a wireless 5G network, I always get 100-200 Mbps speed. even if I am very near to the router. Are there any performance tweaks?
I have only AdBlock installed that blocks 60K domains. does this downgrade performance by so much?

Try disabling the Adblock and see if your speeds (via Ethernet) increase.
Your WiFi speeds may be possible to improve, depending on the hardware capabilities and configuration details. The Ethernet speeds will give you an idea of maximum performance you can achieve.
The performance tweak is not to use severely underpowered hardware, you'll never get anything near even 500mbit using that SoC.
Adblock disable does not make significant improvement.
Which one do u suggest? or what should I look for if have to buy a new one?

Personally I'd use separate devices, one acting as gateway/firewall and one as AP.
Xfinity 1GBPS plan I have. and as per the specification, my router can take up, up to 1.2 GBPS load. I can see process and memory is also below moderate load. Memory 50% available.
I recently created a guest and IoT network on this. I think its taking load, but again having doubt as it does not show up any load.
^this. Unless your router has decent cpu running it you will always get better performance using a separate AP. Also you will get better performance because you will be able to put the AP centrally in the house rather than being tied to where your incoming connection enters the house.

First and foremost, decide what you are benchmarking.
WiFi performance? Routing performance? Your ISP speed?
All of those are "chained" and act as lowest common denominator.

Well if you are getting 500Mbit on wire without router, you are certainly not having 1Gbit connection. Maybe PHY is Gbit but youe ISP is not up to it.
Further, if your router brings down to 300Mbit then you have slow hardware. Try enabling SW offload and test again.
When that is done, try using 80MHz 5GHz channel on WiFi.
Activate software offloading and you will see hardware offloading option. But I don't know if MT7620 is compatible with hardware offloading...
