What stops you from adding it?
"some" does not sound like a use case description.
The description of the use case is inside the README of the project.
* You simply want to use wireguard as a way to proxy some traffic.
* You don't want root permission just to change wireguard settings.
For the 1st reason, there's PBR.
For the 2nd reason, everything is root in Openwrt.
There's also redsocks, it will proxyfy any traffic.
Somebody who needs package adds it, it is how it always worked.
I dont see advantage of this over redsocks or dante in a docker or podman.
