A while back, I installed OpenWRT on my ADB PDG A4001N A-000-1-1-AE device to turn my old Epson TX210 printer into a Wi-Fi printer.
Surprisingly, everything worked perfectly the first time, and until recently, I was using everything without any issues.
The problems started when my internet service provider changed my home router. Now, my printer isn't working properly; it won't print anything I send to it.
I checked if my ADB router had my home Wi-Fi connected, and it does. I tried logging into LuCi to see the configuration of my p910nd Print Server, but surprisingly, it asked me for a password that I never configured. I tried leaving it empty, as described in the forum. I tried basic passwords (admin, root, 1234), but none of it worked. So now I have this problem: I can't log into the LuCi interface, and I can't get my printer to work over Wi-Fi.
Does anyone have any ideas on where to start? I'm thinking about reinstalling OpenWrt and setting everything up again, but I'm afraid of bricking my device...
Pepe1,
Welcome to the forum.
That device is since 2022 not supported! v19.07.10 is (was) the latest build.
I think you used: https://openwrt.org/toh/adb/p.dg_a4001n to install OpenWrt on it?
Maybe you can try log into the device with ssh, or better TTL serial?
Then you can check/change settings.
Otherwise the only option will be the same install as you already did before, only there is no support anymore. And do not try to install newer version of OpenWrt, it will NOT work.
Regards, DG.
Yes, I probably used an outdated version. The device is very old, but it was the only one I had available. Can I reinstall OpenWRT over OpenWRT? For the reason I mentioned, that it asks for a password I never entered, I can't access the device.
I also have another newer router to install OpenWRT on, but it would be a shame if I left this one, which worked so well, aside...
I still can't figure out what changed to make it not work, since the device shows a connection to my network, and my network didn't change (I think), so there's no apparent reason for the p910nd not to work.
PS: Thanks for the welcome to the forum, and thanks for the reply too.
Well, I finally figured out what happened.
When my internet service provider changed my main router at home, the IP address of my OpenWrt router changed, so it was pointing to the wrong IP address when I tried to print. It seems like a stupid problem and solution, but since I couldn't log into my OpenWrt router (due to the password problem), it was impossible for me to figure out what was going on. Now I still can't log into my router, but that doesn't matter because what I need is working correctly. Greetings, everyone.
