Hello, I am running an OrangePi 5 Plus using an RK3588 processor, it has 16Gb Ram and has a 64Gb Emmc that I put a build of OpenWRT on that is available for my SBC from the OrangePi website. I am currently on a different computer so I don't have the build available that is running on it ATM. The question is: How do I upgrade the build to the current one that is available? I have access to LUCI and access to the OpenWRT website and I have the updates already loaded, but I keep getting a message about the Kernel not being compatible and I don't know how to update the Kernel so I can load the updates to get this SBC up to date.
So you are not using official OpenWrt image, you need to get OrangePi's team for support.
Actually, it IS an official OpenWRT image.... It is just not current.
Let's see what you've got on there:

If it wasn't DLed from here, it isn't.
Show me where you download it, at least I can't find it from official OpenWrt Firmware Selector, not even in Snapshot.
Hi Peter... If I can get to it today, I will send you the info that I can get from the install. It is running, I just don't know how to upgrade the Kernel. Give me some time because I am installing Android 12 onto my new 32Gb version of the OPi 5 Plus.
The kernel can only be upgraded by installing a new version of the firmware. It is not something you can upgrade in-place (doing so would break everything).
As others have stated, if you didn't download your firmware from OpenWrt.org, it's not from this project. And, the official OpenWrt project does not support the Orange Pi 5 Plus. So it is almost certain that you need to ask for a new version from the vendor.
