Hmmm
Just got people that is facing problems with this build... Can you share with me the firmware files that are working on your device?
I can use the "hotfixes" mechanics to help people which is facing problems that may be solved only by downgrading the Candela Technologies firmware. Heck, we can even try to run the older Linux driver to pinpoint the root of the problems.
Once done, you can safely update and it can help others to get a perfectly working device!

Hi, I just installed this, coming from stock firmware, and can't get the wan interface to work. The interface was working on the stock, but openwrt is failing with "Error: Network device is not present", and if I log in with ssh and list it with ifconfig there is no eth0.2 interfase
BTW, I installed 2.03, should I try with 2.02?
Yes, it's worth trying. Mine works fine, maybe there is a bug which I am not aware of. It would be nice to pinpoint when it happened.

I also experienced the "Error: Network device is not present", but when I entered my correct time zone and rebooted the system then the problem went away and it connected to the network.

Any chance to install 2.02 without loosing the ability to rollback to stock?
this didn't work in my case...
Yeah, I'm gonna check it out... Most likely a problem with the switch driver which they changed yet again!
They keep changing the driver but never giving a proper solution, how annoying.
@Juan-gimenez-globant it's guaranteed that you will be able to go back to stock at any time you want as long as you use my build.
Thanks for reporting the problem, I see that the build I'm running is different from the one that I uploaded. Maybe I just uploaded the wrong one.

My first use of Openwrt on my EA6350v3 was with V1.16 and I have also loaded and tried versions 2.00, 2.01, and 2.02, but I always went back to factory FW due to dropped connections and poor 2.4Ghz with Openwrt. Based on dzid26's very favorable report on version 1.12, I decided to try version 1.12. I have now been running version 1.12 for 3 days with 10 to 14 devices connected and have not experienced any dropped connections and 2.4G seems to perform well. My initial impression of V1.12 is that it is very robust and reliable. Like dzid26, most of the wireless connections at my home are 2.4Ghz with the exception of two Iphones which are running 5Ghz.
I would like to try V2.03, but I will wait until the revised file is available.
That's cool. I will make a new version (with a working switch driver this time) and along with it upload the "hotfixes" file so you can test the wireless. I'm gonna end my testing and prepare everything today and upload tomorrow.
Ideally we should try first the build without fixes and, if it fails, then try the fixes. Mostly because there is a small hope that the failing part (either the kernel module or the wireless firmware) is fixed and regression-free.

Hello, guys.
I want you to test something for me if you can. I think that there is something wrong with the switch driver, and I discovered that if you do change the VLAN ID in the Switch section to anything other than 1 and 2, it will work. I need confirmation because if it is true, then I know exactly what I need to do to fix this.
Let me know your results if you have time to try it.
I can try that tomorrow, I don't want to ruin the movies night
, so the test is going to be:
- update to 2.03
- change vlans 1 & 2 to 11 & 22
- check that is working
right?
BTW, I have other vlans, vlan 3 for second isp, 30 and 40 for IOT... is ok if I try that way?
I updated to 2.03 and now I can't access de router...
Took my EA6350 offline and plugged in my Netgear router to keep my wife's internet access going. Now offline, from V1.12 did an advanced reboot into the factory FW partition. From there I loaded V2.03 and changed vlan id 1 to 5 and changed vlan 2 to 8. As soon as my wife completes her work, I will bring the EA6350 up online to see how V2.03 works.

I am using EA6350 for long time with original OpenWRT dist but with updated 2.4ghz found on this thread.
I "think" i know what the fuss about VLAN but i am not sure why its important on home use , what use cases do you guys need the VLAN to work ?
In my case I ended up rolling back to 2.02, I need to reset the router first because it was imposible to access, I tried wifi, lan, all the ports, nothing... to me looks like the switch wasn't working at all...
Ohhh... and one good thing, on 2.02 the 5Ghz wifi speed is amazing! I didn't tried 2.4Ghz because I have other routers for that.
Try booting into failsafe mode or the automatic recovery. Both documented in the wiki.
Some ISP provide several services using the same wire (like internet and IPTV, VoIP and so on). So instead of using different wires for every service, they save costs by using the same wire and a VLAN for every service.
Also, you likely need VLAN for things like guest wired networks.
Long story short: VLAN is needed when for whatever reason two distinct network need to move along the same wire.
OK, I was able to boot up the V2.03 but no internet access. Changing the Vlan ID did not make any difference. I also disabled Vlan functionality but still no internet access. It appears that the switch is broken on V2.03. I am currently running my internet using my netgear router, but later I may play around with 2.02 or I may roll back to 1.12 because it appears to be the best version due to its stability and 2.4G performance, at least for me it seems to be the best version.
