so do you mean the ISP router is 192.168.1.4 then the secondary router being this one in question WRT3200ACM needs to not be on the same sub so must be maybe 192.168.5.1 for example, if so then can i just change the main ISP router sub do you think or does it not matter which one?

The address of the ISP router is 192.168.1.1. Your OpenWrt router's wan address is 192.168.1.194. The subnet size is almost certainly /24 (which means the last octet, from 1-255 is all part of the same subnet).
The lan of your OpenWrt router must be on a different subnet. Thus why I suggested 192.168.23.1 but the third octet (bolded) could be anything between 0 and .255 except for .1.
Yes exactly. Basic IP routing is destination based. If two networks exist with the same subnet but attached to different interfaces, destination based routing is ambiguous.
you have excited me, im so so so dumb, that had me over for an age, i am a defo dumb blond now...lol well i seem to have action now thanks to you all, however i have 1 last question pls, well if i now connect another identical router running Openwrt to the ISP router same as this set up that would mean i then have 2 separate sandboxed routers running VPNs well on that router should it now be something like; 192.1.1.1 as i not understand?
Maybe it would be best for you to describe your goals... what are you trying to achieve with this device? It sounds like you might also be trying to setup a second device -- what is the purpose of that one and how are you proposing that it would be connected?
Well the 1 im setting up currently will handle all IOT and the other router is to handle all PC sensitive stuff and the ISP router will just be a slave to the other 2 VPN routers
All of that can be achieved on a single router. There is usually no need to have multiple routers.
i am a newbie and tried VLANs before with no luck nor trust, i much prefer device isolation as i have zero trust with anything IOT you see
Given that this is your first time here, it's quite likely you haven't ever asked how to achieve your goals in this forum (unless you had a different account in the past).
The above can be extended to also use ethernet if desired. The "guest" network is really no different than an IoT network except that you might have slightly different goals on the firewall (easy to implement) to allow or deny traffic and/or inter-VLAN routing.
Thats most kind of you, however i will only be able to sleep at night with separate devices, i never use wifi, bluetooth or such like, not ever if that helps

If that's what you actually need for piece of mind, sure. But be aware that it is more complicated to manage, may make the use of your iot devices more difficult, and you need to pay a lot of attention to how things are configured between the routers to ensure that you've properly secured everything.
But yes, as long as the lan side of any given router is a different subnet than the wan, you should be fine.
so what happens when 1 wants say 5 different routers running separate and feed from the ISP router, is this just not possible do you think?
It's totally possible. Just inefficient and more cumbersome to manage.
