openwrt ubootmod BL2 and FIP partitions from whatever snapshot image was current last october.

rootfs sysupgraded to latest 24.10.5

recovery itb from whatever 24.10 stable build was current last October.
I would like to update the device to 25.12 and I'm asking if it’s worth the time and risk to make every partition synced to 25.12:
A) To update BL2 and FIP partitions, do I have to flash back initramfs factory ubi image (as stated in the wiki instruction for first switching to ubootmod)? Or can I flash them safely from the currently running sysupgrade image?
B) Does the recovery image work independently from rootfs, or is it recommended to be kept in sync with it?
C) Is there any way to trigger the router to boot from the recovery partition, just to test if it's working correctly ahead of time its needed?
