Thanks man! You helped a lot. The router came to life!
First via UART, somehow restored OPENWRT UBOOTMOD, uploaded sysupgrade, but then there was a message HELLO BL31, repeating, and suddenly an idea came and restored with Xiaomi Recovery Tool. The router is Xiaomi again, no big deal, inserted the chip into the programmer, read, for curiosity wrote it to another chip, another Winbond, everything is ok, then wrote it to my Faurecia everything is ok, now nothing to worry about, because at any time with any chip you can restore the stock! Voila!
So with the UART adapter I managed to get a little further. First I followed this tutorial, which helped me a lot! Huge shout out to @alexq Tank you for this detailed step-by-stp
But now I'm stuck at step #9
ubidetach -p /dev/mtd8
I get the error
ubidetach: error!: cannot detach "/dev/mtd8"
error 19 (No such device)
Does anybody know what's going on and how I can proceed?
EDIT: Should I mention, that I have a Foresee NAND?
Yes! This is a key point now. See PR #17963.
You probably have a bad blocks on your Foresee NAND flash drive (check it - even one bad block is enough). Since official OpenWrt image doesnβt currently include a fix for proper handling of it, your OpenWrt installation failed.
-
There is problem/bug in kernel after Bad Block remap cache is not refreshed correctly and due wrong cache next Block is assumed Bad as well, even if it's OK. In other words algorithm tries to remap all Bocks till the end of memory.
Thanks for your patience digging out the solution from this 3000+ monsterthread
Iβll test it out and report back.
I made it! special thanks to
@alexq for linking the important posts that pointed me in the right direction
@Lotoss for the detailed walk through to debrick a device with Foresee NAND with bad blocks
If anyone with similar issues finds his way through this 3.000+ posts megathread and accidentally stumbles over this post, here is a summary:
- read and understand OpenWrt support for Xiaomi AX3000T - #3349 by Lotoss
- prepare your files using the snapshot linked here OpenWrt support for Xiaomi AX3000T - #3409 by alexq
- perform the debrick. If you can't access luci in the last step to upload the sysupgrade-file (which was the case for me) just use WinSCP, transfer the file to the /tmp folder and run the command
sysupgrade -v /tmp/openwrt-mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_mi-router-ax3000t-ubootmod-squashfs-sysupgrade.itb
You can install luci with
apk update
apk add luci

does that look like a dead router or bad soldering? 115200. 2 USB to uart adapters. Linux and Windows.
Maybe you connected the pins wrongly, but it may be bad soldering. From my experience, a dead router doesn't return anything, but it will depend. Maybe someone more experienced than me will be able to tell
What UART to USB device did you bought? A CH341? Those ones are good, idk about other ones.
I tried two different USB-UART adapters in case one was broken. Canβt remember what chip they have in them though. Tried putting the Tx and Rx the other way round. Nothing at all. Same if the router is unpowered, so itβs not just seeing random noise. The Router LED turns on and 192.168.1.1 shows the very very initial Luci page but nothing after. The power isnβt connected lead isnβt connected. Both adapters used 3.3V as high. Wasnβt a very neat soldering job, as I made mistake of not desoldering antenna so was working upside down, but it looked like it should work fine and people have got away with poked cables through the holes before. Tomorrow I will remove the antennas and redo it neatly.
If the browser sees Luci via 192.168.1.1, then why do you think the router is not working? Which Ethernet port is the cable connected to from the computer? If the first one is from the power port, then this is incorrect. This is the WAN port!
Also clear your browser cache, go in incognito mode. Or use another browser.
Only the very very first screen. The one at 192.168.1.1. As soon as it redirects it fails. I think the router enters a boot loop somewhere between the first Page and the redirect. You canβt also SSH into it. Plus my ISP router doesnβt see it, so WAN port doesnβt work either. Hence the attempt at UART
and you're sure you don't have an additional device using the same IP, on your network ?
All the parameters in serial has to be correct 115200,n,8,1. Othervise you might see garbage.
Is it possible to install international firmware from RD23 to chineese version RD03 of AX3000T ?
Yes, the address range is 192.168.0.x plus this happens with or without the WAN port being populated.
I do believe someone reported that it's possible and even provided steps in this thread, but 3000+ posts.. can't find.
Mi WiFi repair tool cannot do that
