Thanks for the reply.
An image with initramfs in it's name was created, but not used.
The image I created and used to write to the router is
openwrt-ipq40xx-generic-tplink_deco-m4r-v3-squashfs-factory.bin
Have you flashed the sysupgrade file after flashing the factory file? Maybe that will help. Otherwise I'm out of ideas.
I did not flash the upgrade image, but I will try that.
Thanks for the input!
Hi everyone,
I’m also having issues with the 5GHz band on my Deco M4R v2 (running mainline ath10k, non-CT). I’ve noticed a strange correlation between TX power and the negotiated bitrate:
At 22 dBm (Max): TX Bitrate is hard-locked at 65 Mbps.
At 17 dBm: Bitrate jumps to ~280 Mbps.
At 10 dBm: Bitrate reaches 520+ Mbps.
Checking iw station dump, the Avg ACK Signal is constantly at -95 dBm, even when the client signal is strong (-53 dBm). This results in massive TX retries and forces the rate control to downshift to 65 Mbps at higher power levels. It seems the AP is unable to hear the ACK frames when transmitting at full power.
Is there any other software tweak or ath10k parameter, I can try to fix this receiver sensitivity/ACK issue?
Best regards!
I think it's better if you make a separat post about the chipset since that shouldn't be something specific about the M4R.
