Dear Developers,
I am reaching out to all the talented developers who are willing to create support for OpenWRT for the BL201 router device. As of now, I have been using custom firmware for the MiWiFi Mini router (OpenWRT), BoluWRT (available on GitHub for BL100/BL201), and ImmortalWRT (available on GitHub with the latest version 23.x).
All three custom firmware options have had various bugs that have made me uncomfortable in using them. Some of the issues I have encountered include kernel not supporting kmod (present in BoluWRT firmware), UI performance issues, heavy system processes, and slow booting (present in ImmortalWRT firmware), and outdated versions and LED bugs (present in MiWiFi Mini firmware, as when installing the latest version, the router fails to boot or gets stuck in a boot loop).
The BL201 has 1 LAN and 1 WAN that offers support for both Power over Ethernet (PoE) in and out, as well as 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi bands. It has a RAM of 64 MB and ROM of 16 MB. The BL201 also has USB support but requires basic soldering to make it work.
I sincerely hope that the developers can take these issues into consideration and work towards creating a stable and reliable OpenWRT support for the BL201 router device. Your expertise and dedication to creating high-quality firmware support would be greatly appreciated by users like myself who rely on our routers for daily connectivity and network needs.
Thank you for considering my request, and I look forward to the possibility of a successful collaboration to enhance the performance and reliability of the BL201 router through OpenWRT support.
Sincerely,
Me.
