Hello OpenWRT Community,
I’m reaching out to share detailed information about a router I’ve been exploring — the Livebox 6+, issued by Orange Spain, and to respectfully request consideration for potential OpenWRT support in the future.
While I understand that devices using proprietary chipsets are often difficult to support, I believe this model has gone under the radar despite its widespread distribution and potential. Below is a breakdown of the device’s specifications and behavior in its current locked-down state.
Device Specifications:
Wifi 6 chipsets: broadcom bcm6710kffbg ; bcm43684krfbg ;
NAND Flash: kioxia oc9302
CPU: BCM49428 Quad-core ARM v8 compliant 64-bit processor
Commercial Name: Livebox 6+
Technical Model: ARLT210C8773
Internal Device Name: ARLTLBPLUG
Firmware Version: ARPLUS6-sp-03.03.01.0270
Bootloader: SAHBL 20.99.14
Hardware Version: ARLTLBPLU61.0.0
Provider: Orange Spain (not Orange France/Belgium/etc.)
Current Observations and Limitations:
FTP is available, but only through anonymous or restricted user access.
SSH, Telnet, and other terminal access options appear to be entirely disabled.
The web interface is severely restricted — no administrative access is possible.
Using browser DevTools, I was able to expose the WAN configuration section, but clicking it immediately reloads the homepage.
A factory reset changes nothing in terms of accessibility.
Firmware blocks any advanced configuration attempts.
The device is effectively unusable outside of Orange Spain’s network.
Important Context:
I’m not a professional developer — just someone with technical curiosity trying to repurpose a capable router.
Orange Spain offers no support since I was never a subscriber of theirs.
The hardware uses proprietary chipsets likely dependent on closed-source drivers.
JTAG and UART haven’t yielded interactive shell access so far.
I plan to include pictures of the PCB, system labels, and UART headers (if attachments are allowed).
What I’m Hoping For:
My foremost request to the OpenWRT developers is this:
If circumstances allow in the future, I would be grateful for a firmware build specifically tailored to this model.
Having OpenWRT support would eliminate many obstacles caused by the severely locked-down stock firmware and would allow the router to be useful outside of its original ISP environment.
Additionally, I’d welcome:
Any partial-access method that avoids bricking the device.
Workarounds or tools to unlock WAN functionality (PPPoE or Bridge Mode).
Experiences from anyone who has worked with this router outside of Orange Spain.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or direction. Even if support isn’t currently feasible, I hope this serves as a useful reference for future consideration.
Best regards,
Ayoub
