OpenWrt Support for Asus DSL-N16

Hi All.

Help me please. Asus released its latest firmware source code.

GPL of ASUS DSL-N16 for firmware

Is it possible to install OpenWRT image on Asus DSL-N16? Please support this device.

CPU1: MediaTek MT7510 ( 650 MHz )
FLA1: 16 MiB ( Brand? Model?)
RAM1: 64 MiB ( Brand? DDR2)

Expansion IFs: none specified

WI1 chip1: MediaTek MT7592
WI1 802dot11 protocols: bgn
WI1 MIMO config: 2x2:2
WI1 antenna connector: RP-SMA

ETH chip1: MediaTek MT7510
LAN speed: 10/100
LAN ports: 4

Thank you.

MT7510 is an uncommon SoC.
I can't find any related code in vanilla Linux, so I doubt it would be supported.

thanks for your reply. Is it impossible or is there a way? I've found some things but I'm not sure.

There's nothing related to MT7510, either.
I haven't taken a look at the GPL code yet. It may help, but porting the code to a recent Linux version requires a lot of work.

Is there any progress?

What do you expect?

I can say, no, there will be no support for MT7510 in the near future.
If you are eager to use OpenWrt, consider buying another router.

What do I expect? more helpful and sharing.

if you are not willing to help, do not feel obliged to answer yourself.

Thank you.

There is no support for this SOC in OpenWrt and there's no one working on it, if you want to change that situation, it'll be mostly up to yourself to provide a minimal patchset to add support for it (and the situation for xDSL support is probably rather dire either way).

Hi there,
A while ago I tried to build the "unloved" Asus firmware for MediaTek based router.
At that time I faced a lot of issues and even if it was building on my machine it was not building on the cloud.

If you are interested in developing this firmware please join this thread or ping me via DM.
As for now, I do not have clear plans on how far I will go with this project since I do not own any of these devices yet and I do this for pure fun.

If you wanna have a look at the latest code please check

The first thing I would love to get is support for other supported routers.. PRs are welcome!
