I plugged a USB wifi into openwrt and it is recognized as wlan0, but when I try to enable the wifi ap the system becomes extremely slow.
Also, hostapd does not seem to be recognized by luci, so I cannot set up WPA authentication for wifi.
openwrt version 24.10.0-rc5

There's only one model of USB wifi out there, or should we guess which one you've got ?

## USB WiFi chipset information for Linux
Updated as of 2024-12-17.
This document is a summary that includes information about many modern USB WiFi chipsets. If you see errors in this information, please post in Issues.
Not all USB WiFi adapters are created equally. While the chipset and driver
dictate which WiFi features are supported (e.g. which frequency bands), the
vendor of the adapter is free to decide on the performance of the antenna(s),
the quality of the amp and whether the device requires mode switching and so on.
