OpenWrt on TP-Link MR3420 v1

I’ve downloaded Firmware of MR3420 v1 from a web portal and installed it on the router.
It is now asking for Admin. Nothing works as admin password.
Can you please tell us which password will work.

Thanks,

If it didn't come from here, ask the person who provided you with it.

The default user in Openwrt isn't admin though, but the one you posted in your screenshot.

Hi Frollic,

Thanks for your response.
Is there any way to flash a new firmware on the router. Tplink or any other.

Thanks,

Michael

https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3420#flash_via_tftp

Default password is empty password.

Be aware that the mr3420, as a 4/32 devices hasn't been supported by OpenWrt in years, there is no security supported version for this device anymore - so you really want to upgrade the hardware urgently.

Hi Frollic,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, this method is not working.
Is there any other way to flash the router without having admin creds?

Thanks,

Michael

Apparently not, and TFTP flashing doesn't require any admin rights ?

There is already a DHCP server running on router and router IP is 172.29.1.1. Should I assing manual IP to LAN or DHCP assigned IP will work?

it's not the subnet you're supposed to use, so I guess the answer is no ?

Hi Frollic,

After a long attemtp, it seems that router is now on rescue mode. It is not assigning IP addresses. Nothing is working after that. Can you please suggest.

Thanks,

Michael
