Openwrt on something like: ZTE F50 external 5G modem?

Hi there, wondering if anybody is feeling mutualy interested if future support possible for openwrt on a battery powered 5G to wifi6 unit like this?

Anything similar available in supported hardware list that is popular here ?

GL.inet XE3000/X3000 and XE300/X300.

As for the device you linked to, supportability depends on the hw inside.

Ah Frollic! thanks for the advice, i've been looking mouthwatering at the GL.inet product range for a while now but sadly these are a little above my budget.
I understand it can't be a broadcom chipset correct ? Any other requirements ? I'm going to ask the manufacturer.

Broadcom is never a good start, there are obviously other hw vendors that are equally bad.

more than 8MB flash and 64MB RAM.

ethernet port is usually a must too, since openwrt comes with wifi disabled.
not sure a zero ethernet device would be accepted.

Alright i'll find out and get back when i find the info.

Would love to test this out myself if i have some step by step guide somewhere?
I'm quite experienced with flashing phones, is testing routers with openwrt much different?

Anyone can confirm the non ethernet port devices statement?
As this would rule out many of these quite handy pocket format routers?

About all of the pocket wifi devices use a single SoC for both LTE and routing, and run Android. OpenWrt is a non-starter here since there are no open source LTE drivers.

Lets send the LTE people mails asking for open sourcing their drivers? where could one contact them ?

find out who makes them, send them an email (if you can find any contact info).

Ok looks like i've got a new mission. Anyone fluent in Mandarin on here?

Google translate is probably fluent enough...
