just wondering if any other version will work on RE450 v4 like the v1 or v2

apparently the only difference from v3 to v4 is onemesh support
so would the v3 firmware work
Purely based on the size of the OEM firmware (~3.0 MB), it's very likely to only be equipped with 4 MB flash, which would imply that it's below minimum system requirements for OpenWrt. So not going to happen, ever.
Disclaimer: this evaluation is purely based on the size of the OEM firmware and might be wrong, but it very likely is correct. As technical specs aren't easily available, that suffices for a first best guess.
