OpenWrt on a cable modem EMTA

Is it possible to install openwrt on some innomedia DOCSIS EMTA cable modems and use the cable modems as a SIP standalone ATA (think linksys PAP2)? Yes abandoning the RF cable portion is fine, I just want to recycle the cable modems into ATAs.

The Table of Hardware in the wiki will tell you. If your device isn't explicitly listed as supported, then it isn't (and cable devices aren't in general, both because of ISP mandated firmware signing and because of Broadcom's prevalence in that market).
