OpenWrt Keyring update error

Hi there,

Just a quick question;

Tried to apply an update that seems to be a big jump from 2019 to 2021, that has just appeared in my updates.

openwrt-keyring

2019-07-25-8080ef34-1 » 2021-02-20-49283916-2

and i get the following error. Can anyone advise please?

Current OS = Powered by LuCI openwrt-19.07 branch (git-21.132.36199-d0cf6e4) / OpenWrt 19.07.7 r11306-c4a6851c72

Force update is not working. Got this issue with two routers and even on freshly installed 19.07.7 firmware on wrt32x.

Temporary solution is adding hash to /etc/opkg.conf check signature

#option check_signature

Thank you for a temporary solution, though, i prefer a solution that is not a workaround.

i.e. An update that will not produce an error using the primary way of updating.

If this is part of the base-files update, as described by the error, how come it was not added in the last update? and behind by 2 Years. Are there any other packages that are behind by this amount of time?

Makes me dubious about the security of OpenWrt now :frowning:

This package seems very way behind.

Ok, i`ll give that a try.

The update has applied ok.

Hopefully further updates will operate as normal without manual intervention.

Thank you, though still dubious about security of old OpenWrt packages that i dont know about. I still trust OpenWrt more than my Internet Providers firmware.

The force solution does work, with no errors via (Putty SSH Telnet)

Now applied to two routers, forced update ok.
