Hello everyone, I have this router but it does not work well for me, I think it has a firmware based on openwrt, but I would like to know if there is a 100% version of openwrt to install
there isn't.
Will there be one?
Since ubiquities ER-X is no longer sold the R700 seems to be a proper replacement. Cheap, metal case, no WLAN.
you own one, open it, tell us what makes it tick.
... and (still) unsupported.
CloudGenix ION 2000 is often $15 on US eBay.
You, doing the rest of the legwork
Funny.
I did create my own custom OpenWRT for teh ER-X and some other devices, but I'm not a Linux-Developer. I tried to flash some Images based on this Arch but I failed. And I have no idea why or how to create a profile for a device like this.
I there a guide or something to read how to create a profile for this?
[Edit]
Didn't saw this.
What size / type is the flash?
The TP-Link ER605v2 is widely available and has more RAM.
We switched to use this TP-Link even it is a little more expensive. We do not have any experience in hacking a router and so it's not a good decision to try to create an image (and possibly fail after a lot of time).
Sadly, because personally I like the R700.
FYI: Someone is working on support for the Cudy R700 now:
it's been merged - https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=75403dd1d05bea1b65349ebb9f8b7deb40b9c802
