Openwrt firmware selector factory image

CORRECTION: Upon speaking with glinet, they informed me that my modem is the original modem, v1, NOT V2.

If openwrt has the factory image on its website, then openwrt is 'certifying' that the 'Factory Image' download from its website is 100% openwrt, correct?

Obviously the answer is yes.

I used 100% openwrt image, not a 3rd party image like OEM.

Also, i did not use sysupgrade, rather, Factory Image.

In a previous post, the topic of flashing the overlay & backup partitions arose, with someone acknowledging that the factory image flashing would not wipe the backup & overlay partitions.

So i am trying to determine how to wipe these partitions, though it seems clear that using sysupgrade WITHOUT keeping settings will wipe the overlay partition.

But what about the 'backup' partition?

Can you provide a link to the thread?

...of what device?

Kinda hard to answer your question when you don't even tell us what device you have. It may also help to note the OpenWrt version.

  • Used the factory image how?
  • Does your usage differ from the official OpenWrt instructions?
