Hi, I just installed openwrt on my Mercusys MR85X. I am using it only as WiFi access point, everything works great except I have problem with my Denon AVR S960H. When I connect it to 2.4Ghz wi-fi it works but only in denon settings menu and once I leave it the connection drop imidiatelly (I was pinging it from my laptop) then when I enter menu again the connection come back up. With 5Ghz wi-fi it is exact oposite it does not work in menu but work outside of the menu. I also have old archer c6 v2 that is having same issue. But there are no problems with their stock FW. OpenWRT version is 25.1.1 on the Mercusys MR85X and 25.1.2 on Archer C6. I tried to change almost every setting but without success. Thank you for any help.
Most likely it's about encryption setting
Make sure it's not set as mixed mode.
I'm using wpa2-aes and even G only devices connect.
option encryption 'psk2+ccmp'
Already tried that, no change. I already tried WMM mode on/off, multi to unicast on/off, dtim interval 1/2/3, Disassociate On Low Acknowledgement on/off, Short Preamble on/off, Honor gratuitous ARP on/off, Drop gratuitous ARP on/off, Enable multicast support on/off and I also played with values in Minimum ARP validity time, Beacon Interval, Time interval for rekeying GTK, Station inactivity limit. None of those settings made difference with the problem I have. I also reset network settings on avr.
OK, so issue resolved by itself after couple of days, without any change in settings, now the 5ghz wifi works even in the settings menu of denon avr. Also I noticed very high latency with lot of IoT devices but I found github issue that suggested it was due to bug in 25.12.1 and upgrading to 25.12.2 resolved that for me.
