OpenWrt Data or privacy?

Hello,

I wanted to know if OpenWrt collect any data, i can't find any privacy policy about the firmware but it is recommanded on many privacy guide website.

Any OpenWrt users managed to catch out data collection in Huawei devices or otherwise? Sneaky/suspicious packets, and the like?

I can see my phone making lots of requests to Huawei (I would assume) sites, in my pi-hole, but never actually bothered looking into it any deeper.

Not only does OpenWrt not collect data, it also does not 'phone home' with any data, user or otherwise. It is worth noting that some users notice router-initiated connections such as NTP, but that is simply for basic router operation (in this case, time synchronization) and is not sending any personal data.
