OpenWRT as a wifi extender

Hi. I have a TP-Link Archer AX73 V2, and i have happy with this device, i have too a D-Link DIR882, with OWRT, since some months i have this device with different wifi that the ax73, but i want to have only one wifi, and to use dir 882 as extender of the ax73 wifi, but i have tried different methods and none works, the wifi turns innacesible or without internet. Please someone that guide me? Thanks.

Are you trying to do this with a wireless backhaul, or do you have ethernet running between them?

If ethernet, it's very easy -- setup the second device as a dumb AP.

If you're using wireless backhaul, you can use mesh, WDS, or relayd. To achieve mesh or WDS, you'll need all of your devices running OpenWrt. If that's not the case, you'll need relayd.

i apologize for the very late answer, but yeah, i used the "backhaul" method because a hard cable installation. the method appears to work, however in the tutorial some steps is missing, so i must to discover for myself. Many thanks to help me.

I'm sorry -- I'm not sure if you're talking about a wired or wireless backhaul method, and what specific approach you have taken to date. If you have questions, please make sure to clearly state the current configuration and topology so that we can help you.
