I have openwrt installed on a TL-wdr5620 device from the third part and want to revert back to vendor firmware which is VxWorks. It seems all the directions are geared to reverting back to the vendor firmware that is still linux based. Then to reinstall openwrt custom. I have a serial connection and tftpboot working. However, the bin file does contain the u-boot so i extracted it with the dd command. Now the upload results in checksum errors for each LZMA section. Has anyone had any luck with this? The openwrt verison running on the device is Archer C5 v4. The uboot versions on the device and bin file are different as the device is newer by 6 months. Would that effect the bootm command?
What is printed in top line of device label like /Archer C7 (EU).... REV. 2.0/
If the device ran VxWorks, it was probably never supported by Openwrt, and we don't know how to revert to stock fw.
See label i uploaded.
Usual recovery is to observe device starting with some button pressed attempring tftp session or starting web recovery etc. Then you serve or upload OEM firmware file.
tplink has guides to do it, just walk through them and provide OEM upgrade file as recovery firmware.
