owut if you have lots of added packages.
I only got dns-https-proxy installed but I intend to just let it get wiped and I'll configure it myself again. Would using sysupgrade work?
Sorry, false alarm on ASUS RT-AX59U I think. IT WORKS WELL.
ASUS RT-AX59U what works:
IPTV works
Wifi 6 works
PPPOE, VLAN 35 works
DDNS works
SMB/FTP works
Tailscale also works pretty well
So far, so good. ErLite3. Thanks devs!
Installed on OpenWrt One and GL.iNet GL-MT3000. No problems. Great job
Did something happen with networking that may have caused Avahi mDNS reflection to stop working on 24.10.0-rc4/5 from 23.05.5?
Edit: Sure enough. Avahi mDNS not running properly on 24.10.0. Sadly downgraded to 23.05.5
Similar here. Rc4 stable as rock. Rc5 random sigterm send to dnsmasq. It restarts the whole network.
Xiaomi ax3000t
I just installed it on some of my WR3000. The APs are running well in my BATMAN mesh. However, I guess I have found an issue with batctl. There is currently no way to query for connected neighbors. The neighbor command is unknown to the build version...
Is this just me or is there a general issue with it?
Kind regards,
Chris
I am not sure if my problem should be considered as a bug. Anyway, here is what happened.
I used the CFE to flash the RC5 into SmartRG SR505N which had the most recent official firmware. After that I was able to see the LuCi web interface and set the password. Then log out, and log in again using my new password. Powered off, powered on again. No more communication in any of the ethernet ports. I am not even able to get into the CFE anymore. That used to be achieved by holding the reset button over 20 seconds, which will turn the power light into red.
It was a spare modem/router, not really worth much. Was just hoping to make it into a little managed switch with Openwrt. Guess it is bricked now.
Nvm. Not all rc5's fault. Something happened in my part. Sorry
Perhaps some more information here - not a solution though.
Today, after an uptime of 17 days I upgraded my ZyXEL P2812HNU-F1 from rc4 to rc5. Have had no (new) issues with rc4, and so far rc5 is working fine as well.
Thanks devs!
Thank you very much for the information! That seems to explain what happened. I was suspecting if I did something wrong, or the device happened to break down right after the reboot.
If your SR505n is having the same problem as mine then the device can be recovered by accessing the UART and interrupting CFE. Is still don't have a fix for it though. All my other bmips devices have external switches and work fine, so this is probably only an issue on the bcm63268 internal switch. The only other supported device that uses the internal switch is the Comtrend VR-3032u so I'm curious if it has the same problem.
While doing a quick test though I found a different problem. After flashing with CFE, the device wouldn't boot. On the console it stopped at "Booting from latest image (0xb8800000) ...". The openwrt image overwrites the dual images with a single one, so this will never work. After using the c command in CFE to tell it to boot from the previous image I got the correct "Booting from only image (0xb8010000) ...".
Does this resolve the deauth issue for iphone and ipad?
You still get around 55mbps max with VDSL on that am i right?
I'm wondering: I have 3 openwrt dumb AP's configured in a mesh (802.11s with vxlan tunnels on top), on 23.05.
- Would an in-place upgrade be recommended, or best to start over from scratch?
- Would they be inter-operable in mesh-mode, meaning if I start upgrading the first one, would it still be able to participate in the mesh with the 2 other AP's still running on 23.05?
In general, it is a good idea to not keep settings and start from scratch (using backup files as a guide) between major releases in case there have been incompatible, or simply desirable, configuration changes. But I've not followed my own advice a number of times and it has worked out OK.
You can definitely get in trouble keeping settings though. For example, if your AP's are ipq8064 targets, then the answer to your questions is absolutely not. The ipq8064 target was switched from swconfig to DSA in 24.10, so you would need to reconfigure them manually using backup files as a guide. With many other targets you may be able to keep settings and everything will work fine.
I upgraded two Sitecom WLR-8100 AP's from rc4 to rc5 and my Bluesound players become unresponsive. Seems to be more effecting the wireless connected players than wired, but the whole system breaks down eventually meaning it becomes invisible.
Might be related to your experience?
I downgraded to rc4 and all BS players work well again.
I don't have time before the weekend to do any troubleshooting, but if it is related to the neighbor command it could be that BS players need this.
I'm on VDSL2, and the box trains in at 110/30. A download maxes out at around 8.5MB/sec, then one core is fully utilized. Maybe I could get higher with some irq balancing, but I never tried.
