You could always update to 23.05-Snapshot: https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/23.05-SNAPSHOT/targets/ if you urgently need code changes made after 23.05.2. There is no special magic in a release, it is just tagged and created out of the stable branch, now 23.05. No need to have expectations. Why not run 23.05-snapshot now? The 23.05 branch commits from two weeks after the announcement you linked are included in the current snapshot.
The industry standard is to publish expected release dates, but move them if the unexpected happens, and be transparent about all the process.
In FOSS projects by definition there can be no expectations as the work is done by volunteers donating their time and effort to the cause. The whole thing is a bonus.
OpenWrt v23.05.3 has been tagged last night, it's coming! Thank you developers.
That's kinda my point. Unwritten rule is not to ask for eta's in voluntary projects. Then users reply: "It's done when it's done! Don't waist their time asking for eta's".
It's ok I stand corrected for asking also not to give eta's.
Main problem is that some news website/forum are starting to make random claim making bad words on the entire project... My intention wasn't to give ETA or something but to just say it's planned and we are taking about it.
Dude... do you really need to be the first one to rush the announcement? can't you just wait for the actual developers to do an official announcement? haven't you read that new releases should not be used untill the official announcement, as they may be incomplete?
