OpenWrt 19.07.9 ninth service release

Thank you. Updated TP-Link Archer A7v5 successfully. Is it my imagination or does LUCI seem much faster?

I also have two of these and I am currently running them on master build from last year in mesh mode (and barely able to push 200 mbps via wifi). What sort of bandwidth are you seeing when using this version on wired and wireless (5GHz)?

EDIT: I should note, I have a 300mbps symmetric fiber line where these are being used... the Fiber goes into the ONT and from there I have a CAT5E going into one TP-Link Archer A7v5 (serving as the main router) and the 2nd unit sits on the floor below. I am running mesh because I don't have the ability to run a wired backhaul. 5Ghz band from the main unit gives me about 212mbps up/down. I am pretty sure the stock firmware will be able to push the full 300 up/down.
I'm interested in knowing if this version of 19.07 is capable of pushing the full 300mbps on the 5GHz band.
EDIT2: I also tend to run without Software Flow Offloading. Two reasons:1. I saw no improvement in throughput in my case (perhaps master build at the time was in a limbo state where version 21 was being finalized) and 2. The flow offloading feature interferes with port forwarding (wasn't able download files from my NAS from the WAN until I disabled flow offloading, perhaps it is fixed now).

How long will 19.07.9 be supported?

My understanding is this is the last service release for 19.07.

I wanted to build with imagebuilder locally, so I had to work around the SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH issue by adding

SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH=`date +'%s'`

to the make arguments. Any issues with that going forward, should I wait for another fix before using this image to sysupgrade a .8 install?

I pushed a fix and we plan to have a final 19.07.10 release in a few weeks, if you can wait until then please or use a 19.07-SNAPSHOT build.

I am maintaining a total of 3 systems for various family members.

  • House A: WRT3200ACM wired to 2 APs Archer A7v5 (currently on 19.07.8). This is on Frontier 500mbps symmetric fiber, fiber to ONT to WRT3200ACM. Wireless speed test shows lower at about 130mpbs. Direct ethernet connection to ONT shows around 300-350mbps. I'm using VLANs to create subnets for IOT and regular traffic.
  • House B: Similar set up for router/APs but different provider (Spectrum) and it is a bit slower. Sorry, I haven't checked recently but IIRC it varied quite a bit because Spectrum.
  • House C: 1 Archer A7v5, Spectrum cable (200/50? I don't recall the upload). Upgraded this one to 19.08.9. Terrible speed (as low as 30/10) because of the ancient modem and because cable.

Software offloading made a 10% or so difference when I first turned it on in 19.08.7 (or perhaps a bit earlier) so I've left it on. Yes, I've checked the cables at all 3 places. The systems are very reliable with an uptime of many months so I don't want to mess with them. I will likely change House B over to 21.02.X as the relative is moving so I may as well do it at that time.

Must be an issue on my end if the results are off so much. BTW, I am running IPV4 but that shouldn't be an issue.

I have a problem that I only encounter on this version OpenWrt 19.07-SNAPSHOT r11412-5ecc7ead48 / LuCI openwrt-19.07 branch git-22.052.50988-1b6c126, SmartShare Lg is not visible on my lg TV, the TV is connected on 5Ghz (wifi Encryption WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE Mixed Mode) in my network.I use the same settings in other versions of openwrt and only with the version 19.07-SNAPSHOT I have problems !

What is the problem, can be on the wifi side, a closed port in firewal ?

it seems that the problem is WPA2-PSK / WPA3-SAE Mixed Mode, I changed WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode-reboot router and now it is visible, strange 21.02 Snapshot works with the same settings !
Strange Netflix, youtube and other applications were running on TV ....

No issues with 19.07.8

Which distribution (version) are you trying to build on?

Ubuntu 21.10,
I can successfully build 19.07.8, but 19.07.9 fails with the above error.

Trying to install 19.07.8 by Luci flash firmware gives an OOM Out of Memory error and the service is killed.

This is already fixed, but it is not included in tagged 19.07.9. You need to do same changes as in this commit or you might want to wait for new release

Thanks for the update, guess I'll go back to figuring out why trying to write the sysupgrade gives an OOM response.

19.07.10 will be released very soon.
