Have you done a clean install?

Depends on what you mean with clean install. I have installed the "official" firmware from cli
(sysupgrade -n )

I mean not keeping settings when upgrading. A "clean flash" so to speak.

Thanks, yes when I upgrade from command line I use the command option -n to not save any configuration.

When the router comes back up, the Wireless file in /etc/config is missing, and the dmesg is shown in a previous post. Looks like it cant load the driver.

With stock firmware, can you configure APs and connect to them on the air? Just showing up in the menu doesn't mean the hardware is working.

No there were still no wireless on the stock firmware, back in March when I tested. I will see if I can dig the router out again and try again.

I just tried to install the factory version (openwrt-19.07.5-ath79-generic-tplink_archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory.bin) again and there is still no wireless.

This morning I tried to revive my Archer C7 V2 again with the latest snapshot (19.07.7)
I'm still not able to get the wireless running. The wireless config is empty.
