Insufficient RAM for stable operation

  • 32 MB can work for minimal router/AP functions, but may repeatedly “crash”, depending on your hardware and use case
    64 MB may still have issues with stability, depending on your hardware and use cases

Running a VPN server is resource intensive. It may run, but another device would be a better choice for stability and performance both.

Past that, installing OpenVPN should be the same as any other OpenWrt-supported device. https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/vpn/openvpn/basic is one intro-level write up.
