One wireless as client and AP

I would like to connect to free wifi AP and share this WAN connection to my AP.
How can I setup the same wireless for both connections? I'm also using 4G modem with multiWAN, but when WIFI Client connection is unavailable, my AP also becomes disabled.

The Travelmate package is commonly used for this purpose. Just FYI - this is normal. The AP needs to know the correct channel (i.e., from the STA). Travemate was used to get around this.
