Official AX6 OpenWrt, what that means?

Hi
I installed Openwrt a year ago on my AX6, and the wifi performance was really bad compared to stock rom.
Wifi strength was about half compared to rom stock...
People said it because the drivers are not improved enough..

Now there is "Official" openwrt for AX6.
That means the Wifi signal will be as good as stock rom?
How official openwrt is different than unofficial openwrt?

Thank you guys and I hope you understand me...

There's only one way to find out…

I just want to know theoretically about Unofficial with weak wifi strength to Official openwrt differences...

If there have been no changes to driver software/your device, behaviour between "unofficial" (I guess you mean release candidates) and "official" (I guess you mean stable release) might be the same. But you should upgrade anyways, the stable versions are called stable for a reason.

Can I know if drivers are updated before installing openwrt?

Yes.

  • You can search.

https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=summary

  • You can also browse the release notes:

(Although it seem much easier to simply install and test.)
