Ntfs-3g package needs updating

For whoever owns this package ... ntfs-3g and it's related packages are from 2016.2.22 , and if you go here http://www.tuxera.com/community/open-source-ntfs-3g/ , theres the source code for a release from last week...

Will that just need a recompile or is it a lot of work to make it "Lede-compatible"?

In repo is version 2017.3.23, see http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mips_24kc/packages/

It pays off to check the feed source repo.

There was a pull request about the upgrade 5 days ago:
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/pull/4309

The maintainer then updated the package three days ago:
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/commits/master/utils/ntfs-3g

It has been updated in master branch for buildbot snapshots and self-built firmwares but not yet in the stable 17.01 branch. Possibly the maintainer @thess will backport the package upgrade it also to 17.01 if there is no negative feedback from the master snapshot users.

Great! Now I see the new package! ( I was looking at David's old repository, that's over 3 days old  )

I can see that the maintainer @thess has upgraded ntfs-3g and ntfs-3g-utils, but not "ntfsprogs_ntfs-3g" ... worried about incompatibility if I just upgrade "part of the suite"?

That package has actually been removed totally.
Just see the source code:
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/commit/092b4d0ae830b99f69ae0865560571609a11650f

you should probably uninstall it first and then install the new package.

Oh, I see now ... all of the utilities are now included in "ntfs-3g-utils". Thanks!
