Novice at 5G router developing

Hi all,

I'm a novice at 5G router developing. From vendor, we have SDK and motherboard.

We try to understand the general way to setup 2.4G/5G wifi, 5G cellar and hardware support VLAN/switch features. My question, is there a classic wifi router we can study first? I think I can buy a wifi router and upgrade device with openwrt firmware, then study the whole process.
