Hey guys, I'm brand spanking new to all of this and especially OpenWRT and I'm having a wild issue. I've gotten a hold of a WG1608 and a RM520n-GL and i made the mistake of buying a pcie router instead of one with a M.2 connector. I used a key B adapter and installed my module into it and wired the antennas into the module and when I go to modem, it says there's "No Modem Present", am I connecting something wrong or am I lacking a file? Just bewildered. Thanks
Could you provide more information about the module and the modem?
Please confirm you're using the official OpenWrt version you downloaded from openwrt.org and show the output of cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices
i have a ZBT wg1608 router but its a standard PCIE and i used a m.2 to m-pcie adapter thats a key B for the Quectel RM520nGL module
do i find the output in the router IP itself or in the putty or command prompt thingy? Sorry for the bajillion questions
and it's the latest version of GoldenOrb the 23.05.0
Then you're not running Openwrt, but something based on it....
Please contact GoldenOrb support then.
Okay, yeah the obvious was that but now after i installed a stable version of openwrt like a smart person would, i'm still having issues with OPKG UPDATE. i have setup the network and everything to get opkg update installed so i can install modem manager and it tells me connection not permitted
Please run the following commands (copy-paste the whole block) and paste the output here, using the "Preformatted text </>

You are self referencing the dns. There must be an outward facing dns somewhere, usually this is on the wan. Set it to either allow peer dns (and remove the dns entry you’ve added), or set it to a public dns (such as 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1).
i configured those settings and it still gives me code 6 and it tells me operation not permitted
Let’s see the rest of the config as it is now.
Please copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </>
" button:
Remember to redact passwords, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:
cat /etc/config/network
cat /etc/config/dhcp
cat /etc/config/firewall
Also post the rest of the commands you didn't post earlier.
