No eth1 on NanoPi R4S after upgrade to 24.10

Hi,

Just tried upgrading a remote Nanopi R4S to 24.10, but after upgrade the eth1 interface disappeared. I rolled back to 23.05.5 and the interface came back like before.

Before downgrading we tried several reboots, and eth0 worked like expected (I'm using tailscale to reach the machine, and the 24.10 sysupgrade package was built using the firmware selector CI to include tailscale as a package) as I had no issues reaching the machine from my location.

Any ideas why? This machine is located 1000 km from me so I only have remote access...

It's a known issue that some R4S devices have, most seem to work fine but soms....
If possible a bootlog would help dev's pinpoint the issue. Best to stay on 23.05.X for now.

You can follow https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/17873, where people are upset because free software isn't flawless...

Ah, used this machine with openwrt for a year or so without issues so was very surprised when the hardware acted up like this!

I’ll start with 23.05.5 unless I can figure out a way to contribute for a solution in this…
