Can it be installed in Black Cilinder too (Xiaomi MI AC21000) or it is specific for Redmi (white with 6 antennas)?

Here's the one for the Xiaomi Mi Router https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=21.02.0-rc1&target=ramips%2Fmt7621&id=xiaomi_mi-router-ac2100

I upgraded from a snapshot build

Thank you!

ehm, the sha256 crc from SNAPSHOT (r16596-6f77ce7724) for Xiaomi Redmi Router AC2100(the white router with 6 antennas) does not match the downloaded file .. or is that a different checksum?

Hello,

Thank you for this.

Also a note for the mods: would it be possible to somehow do a separate subthread for Xiaomi/Redmi devices only, and also separate custom builds for these, as this single thread generates quite a lot of "noise" and most of the more important posts with regards to custom firmware gets "lost" a bit, I feel?

after trying out several different types of ram
512MB = SKhynix & Samsung
256MB = Nanya
I choose to use 256MB because it is stable on my device, at 512MB sometimes it likes to restart randomly

Are you using the stock bootloader, or BREED?

I'm using breed, and it's only in OpenWRT that it automatically adjusts the RAM size

It seems you disabled 2.4GHz. You are only using 5 GHz.
Try to change country to something else 'CA' for instance...
May be there is something broken related to country code / freq / power table.

Example of iPhone 8 link speed:
585.0 Mbit/s, 80 MHz, VHT-MCS 7, VHT-NSS 2
468.0 Mbit/s, 80 MHz, VHT-MCS 5, VHT-NSS 2

Also try other channels 36 using 20/40/80, 52 channel 20/40/80 ...
You may live in a noisy/busy Wifi environment / You may have to make several tests to find the better settings.
List_of_WLAN_channels

In order to have an overview of your Wifi environment, you may use Network/Wireless/Scan feature. It should display all Wifi networks around (with channels used): very useful to choose a good channel.

Finally I can lose some wifi signal so I'll start using @scp07 buiilds. I'll try 19.07.7. The 21.02.0 rc1 isn't working properly (the wifi is very unstable). I'll mtd write the file while running the 21.02.0 rc1. I think that's the propper way, right?

Edit: no, it's not the proper way. I get "Can't open device for writing!"

Edit2: just used sysupgrade!

Just noticed, after rereading the topic, that I forgot that after using Openwrt the names of the targets using mtd write change to kernel and ubi. The router is working after the sysupgrade from 21.02.0 -rc to 19.07.7. do you think it should be better to use mtd write to avoid future bugs or other problems @scp07 ?

1.2 looks better. The ability to bridge the wired and wireless interfaces it's of a great help indeed! Speed and stability is so far so good.

I only had partial success with vlan tagging of some of the ports: for example if I set the phys wan port as trunk, multiple networks work. but if I tag some of the different physical ports, no traffic will go through.

On my side, I was unable to configure this 1.2 as the root password did not work (I tried various possibility but no success). I had to flash back another firmware ...

19.07.7 was probably the best I had.

This 21.02rc1 seems pretty unstable on wifi (many station got disconnected during the day)

Out of curiosity, I'm using BREED but it refuses to flash the firmware I'm giving him. I can only do from the openwrt image ... (which has been an issue with 1.2)

user: root
pass: root

For all my builds is the same.

On 4PDA there's this openwrt build with proprietary drivers and whatnot, which has been updated.
The link to the build post is here.

I would be glab if someone which has a 4pda account and speaks russian could re-upload it to something like gdrive

Got this error with 1.2 build

Weird. Try to run WIFI_FIX or RESTART NETWORK in the same page. Should fix it. Or even reboot.

For me is working very stable for almost a week now.

Hi,

Who has experimented an update from 19 to 21 firmware ?

Best regards.

You can do sysupgrade, but do not keep settings.
