I agree: everything worked till

nc -nlvp 31337

which didn't output anything

Maybe a firewall problem?
I will try to disable with

sudo ufw disable

I'm on Manjaro linux

have you try downgrade the router fw to 1st release, well i allways using tutor from yutub with chinese guidance, and those guide only work with 1st release firmware, cause the update fw cannot use exploit

I did downgrade to 2.0.736, so version 2.x
not 1.0.x because I thought it was for Redmi AC2100 (white router).
Since you told me they are the same
I will have a try tonight, I've been busy these days.
Can you point the right firmware 1.0.x?
I know probably it is pointed somewhere in previous messages
but...1183 messages require a while to read again from top to bottom!
thanks

update:
found this, @arindus1981 do you think it is ok?
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gtLI6COHEIlD45DqLoxw47npoRpHwVyr

you can download stock from scp gdrive https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WTWvOp-6B54hsCDpuo_hf2JKAaUwmZFG

yes i use that file, from tutor, the stock is miwifi_r2100_firmware_64288_2.0.376

I just finished the modified 19.07.7 version today. You can download the new image here. The source code is stored on GitHub as usual.

You have the choice between two image versions: A lightweight standard image and an advanced image with an extended set of built-in features. From now on Wireguard VPN is also included in the advanced image.

Hello. Thank you. What's the difference from your version and the 19.07.7 official (apart from packages)?

There is no official 19.07 for xiaomi/redmi ac2100...

Also, IIRC, @scp07 build uses swconfig instead of DSA.

Here's a recent firmware with MTK drivers and OpenWrt (and translated to english)

https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=975687&st=7600#entry103441909

You need to be registered in that forum to download.. and also know a bit of russian. If someone can download it, please share

No joy: I can't downgrade my AC2100 (black router) from 2.0.376 to 1.0.x
you can see in the screenshot

Any more suggestions?

sorry, why you downgrade to fw 1, that for redmi ac2100.. 376 for mi ac2100
its time flash to openwrt

Here you are!

There are two files in archive:
openwrt_for_breed.bin - for install from Breed (install to 1st partition, loading from the 2nd)
openwrt_sysupgrade.bin - for upgrade from OpenWrt (before install reset configuration to default)

Default password: password

Hi
I tried the MTK fw from the 4pda
It is in Chinese but you can change the language in the settings.

I had a trunk official version before the upgrade
Then flashed via the sysupgrade and the device booted but not responded from LAN.
Then I did the reset button procedure and got the luci and ssh.
Did the simple config, enabled the wlan interfaces and started testing.
My tv box with 5g got the much better signal and iperf -R wlan to lan results than on the trunk version.
I was happy until I rebooted the router.
After the reboot all wlans were down, after enabling them the devices were unable to obtain the IP.
So I switched to the latest build of scp07.

would be interested if you will have the same issue with the reboot.

Which are the main benefits of this build? And where does it come from? Can this be trusted?

The main benefit is using the proprietary mt76 driver, which supposedly still beat the open-source one.

It came from people who supposedly signed an NDA with mediatek (just like this repo owner).

You alone decide whether you would trust such build or not.

That crap is worthless. I bricked the router by trying to flash normal openwrt back. The whole build is also really limited and nothing compared to openwrt. Avoid that build, now I have the red light blinking really fast. How can this be solved?

Do you have breed bootloader or stock?

If you have breed, then flash openwrt from breed (combine kernel1 and rootfs image first).

If you have stock bootloader, go back to stock firmware using miwifi repair tool, and then flash openwrt again.

I misunderstood your message.

I tried with another computer (Linux Mint 18.2)
and I went successfully to the end because netcat worked as expected.
Now my black cylinder is on OpenWrt 19.7.7.

I don't know why it didn't work on Manjaro, I would like to know in order to help someone else.
Thanks for your patience!

According to the the message from 4pda it comes from this repo

Hello. I will try it later on. Hope it can survivor to reboot...

Thank you friend!
