I’ve set this up this morning and have OpenWRT working on my TP-Link AX12.
Configuring WiFi only one shows - 2Ghz and I cannot reason why, not the other - I know the Router is capable of both. In Wireless Overview I only have
Qualcom… 2.437GHz
and one SSID
I would have expected to see four lines - what am I missing?
Second question - I’m in the UK on BT (EE). I haven’t yet connected the Router to the broadband - but want to enter the login details before I do this - where do I find this in the interface. - so that it connects when I do.
which OpenWRT would that be, AFAIK the device isn't supported here ?

My apology, I had picked a wrong photo of another of my TP-Links.
This is the correct model details - Archer C6 AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router.
So OpenWRT loaded on this one.
Wow! Am I impressed - will look at how to do attempt the downgrade.
Any help with my second question?
What kind of uplink have you got ?
PPPoE?
It's PPPoE, and I did manage to find out how to do this and have successfully (subject to a test) managed to complete the set up.
I'm just waiting for Amazon to deliver a RJ11 to RJ54 cable to connect up the broadband here.
VERY MANY thanks for the support - for a complete newcomer it's such a help,
Thecable arrived and I have connected with it from the BT Broadband Interface (Female RJ11) to the Internet port on my Router, but still failing to make the internet connection.
Protocol PPoE
Eth0.2
Bring on boot - ticked
PAP bthomehub@btbroadband.com
Password BT
Other setting on auto
Other tabs - no changes made.
Where am I going wrong?
what's "BT Broadband Interface (Female RJ11)" ?
sounds like *DSL, AFAIK your C6 isn't a *DSL router, you'll need a modem in front of it.
Ok, I’m a complete novice, and clearly have misunderstood a lot…
In the UK British Telecom (BT) external copper wire terminates in the house with a small box with two sockets Female RJ11 which then connects to a BT modem (HomeHub they call it) with another RJ11 and the other for a telephone.
So I mistakenly thought this would replace the BT router, but this is clearly not the case…
Having slept on this - I’m still confused.
In the Network settings - under LAN, I was able to set up under PPoA the logon and password that would be used on a modem - even though the router cannot fulfil that function. That’s my question.
all openwrt capable routers can do PPPoE.
PPPoE doesn't necessarily mean *DSL, it can be used for other internet access technologies, like FTTH.
problem is, your C6 doesn't have a modem built in.
if you're on *DSL, you need additional hw, or replace the C6 with an openwrt capable modem.

I’m clearly loosing the plot - in the Table of Hardware DSL Modem supported I do find TP-Link Archer C6 V2 EU listed - so this table is wrong? This does not have a Modem.
Thanks for the TIP on the BT Homehub this (or similar) is what I was trying to get away from by using OpenWRT.
are you referring to https://openwrt.org/toh/views/toh_modem_supported ?
then yes, it appears to be wrong, the last device on that list is a managed switch ...
use https://openwrt.org/toh/views/toh_extended_all, enter xrx200 in the subtarget column, pick a device with > 8MB flash, and > 64MB RAM.
or the new https://toh.openwrt.org/?view=all, enter DSL in the Modem Type column.
that HH was running openwrt
