New Setup Suggestions?

Hello,

I'm looking either for a DSL router (all in one) or a router + DSL modem that will offer me maximum security without breaking the bank.

Ideally:

Router - ~£100-£200
Modem - ~£50

I have been looking at the ToH and seen the Linksys MR8300 (unfortunately the MR9000 isn't supported) and the Asus RT-AX53U.

I ideally want 4 core, 256MB RAM, 256MB+ ROM for future proofing.

Can anyone suggest any hardware recommendations or tips on any hardware?

    • ADSL
    • ADSL2
    • ADSL2+
    • VDSL
    • VDSL2
    • VDSL2+vectoring
    • VDSL2+super-vectoring
  • WAN speed, do you expect speed upgrades (ftth/ cable) in the near future (1-2 years, maybe 3)
  • additional expectations (USB, software services to run (e.g. VPN, SQM, etc.))
