New mwlwifi driver cant load wifi on Linksys wrt12000ac

the git commit "0845a346661092f380ab88fd69f7c29f5247c61a" has added a new version for mwlwifi, named mwlwifi-2018-06-15-8683de8e.
so installing image from this git commit makes my wifi not load.

I see alot of these errors in kernel massages:

> "kern.info kernel: [ 16.354318] ieee80211 phy1: unmapped+free’d 250 0xdd5e6080 0x1d5e6080 4096"
and then this

This would appear to be a one off, so I would suspect the device or image. Maybe try to roll back to the previous image to see if phy1 loads correctly.

How did you get from the source code at GitHub to a binary in your device? Did you compile just the drivers yourself? Did you rebuild the whole system?

I have used drivers compiled from that commit, and I am currently using a version compiled from a couple of commits later, and it works perfectly for me.

unfortunately it is not a one off.
If I go back to a commit before that my wifi works.
If I use that commit or any commit after that my wifi doesnt work.

I use git trunk of openwrt to build a custom image(have always done so).

I think you could compile mesh suport (i bet you have disabled it in firmware) and the new mwlwifi should work or use this (as i have been told, not tested myself yet):

In that case, I would file a but at kaloz's repo.

The one off was meant to convey that the issue appears unique to your use case, whether the device or the image. Since you can go back, it appears to be the image. Maybe try a snapshot image to test if same issue persists. There are also wrtpac images off the link on my avatar if that helps with your problem solving.

I have only been using the radios on a rango as of late (so different radio device), but have seen no issues with the current 10.3.8.0-20180615 in master, or the two following commits. If the issue was common there would be a lot of voices raised I think.

Edit: and as noted, you should take FS1604 to the mwlwifi issues for resolution.

how did I disable that?
I use custom images because I dont want some of the features in standard image and to add my config from start.
where do I check that mesh support?

now it seems something is wrong with my config because I did a clean build from trunk with my config and it still fails.
I installed the snapshot from website of openwrt and it works
what am I missing?
I checked the installed packages in the snapshot(which is small ) and I have all of them installed.

I enables the mesh option and it got fixed.
for others this is the option:
CONFIG_PACKAGE_MAC80211_MESH
